Master of Acupuncture with a Chinese Herbal Medicine Specialization

The University of East-West Medicine’s Masters program has been one of the University’s exceptional programs since the campus opened in 1997 preparing students for a successful career in acupuncture. Because of our excellent reputation in our community, graduates from UEWM are recruited by acupuncture practices across Silicon Valley, Northern California, and beyond.

The Master of Acupuncture with a Chinese herbal medicine specialization program (MAcCHM) is accredited and approved by ACAHM, NCCAOM, California Acupuncture Board, and BPPE. All graduates are eligible to apply for the California Acupuncture License Exam and National Certification Exam.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must have completed at least two years of college-level education, comprising 60-semester units (90 quarter units), at an institution accredited by the U.S. Secretary of Education or at an approved foreign university in order to qualify for admission to UEWM. A minimum overall grade point average of 2.0 is also required. A medical background is not necessary for admission but is helpful.

THE APPLICATION PROCESS

  1. Complete the online application
  2. Pay the application fee
  3. Submit all admission documents via email or mail
  4. Admission Department review of the application
  5. Admission decision given
  6. Once admitted, register for classes
  7. Attend the New Student Orientation

All documents are required to be in English and submitted within 2 weeks prior to the start of the semester or within 2 weeks of your application, with the exception of the Foreign Official Transcript which should be submitted no later than the end of the first semester.
